City of Hawthorne

The city of Hawthorne is located approximately 15 miles east of Gainesville in North Central Florida, at the crossroads of State Road 20 and US Highway 301. There are approximately 400 bodies of water within ten miles making the area of a hub of recreation. This quaint city of 1,500 supports a business population base of over 20,000, and is located in Alachua county, a county of 250,000.  Quality of life is excellent with close proximity to the University of Florida, three community colleges, and major hospitals.
